This particular 1966 Chevrolet Corvette appears to have been a very nice example
when the restoration process was started in late 1992. Just two months before
the restoration began, this car participated in the Bloomington Survivor event
of June 1992 and was judged. That alone speaks to the condition that it was in
prior to receiving a restoration. Included with the sale is a binder of receipts
showing dates from the 1990s and earlier as well as receipts from as recently
as 2009. Perhaps the most important invoices included in this binder is the
large number of receipts for the restoration.

While it is an older restoration beginning to show some age, it has been well-
preserved and taken care of as its value as a collector vehicle was recognized
when it was not yet 30 years old. The Milano Maroon and white soft top color
combination is both uncommon and beautiful. The white top is intact, and
although it and the paint are both beginning to show their age, this car is still
an attractive little cruiser worthy of showing. The redline tires really make that
maroon paint pop!

Under the hood is what appears to be the correct original Chevrolet 327 V8.
The engine bay is clean and tidy, as should be expected of a restored car. Top
end work on the heads was performed in 2009 at the request of the current
owner and receipts show that the heads were decked, a valve job was performed,
and various other mechanical maintenance services were performed. This is a
Corvette that runs great and is turn-key ready to hit the streets!

Perhaps the best preserved area of this car is the interior. It looks almost as if
it could have been restored this year! All of the soft materials are in good condition,
and everything seems to be in order. The star of the interior is the real teak
wood steering wheel. These wheels are a tough find these days, and a nice
original commands a lot of cash! The one in this Corvette is in great shape, and
appears to have been refinished when the rest of the car was done. While a plastic
woodgrain wheel was available, the real teak wheel is far more attractive and
feels warm in your grip like only a wooden steering wheel can.
